Who runs this site
The site is run by the Club’s organiser as an independent archive and resource for the JHU community. It is not an official publication of Johns Hopkins University, and no university body receives what is sent through it.
What the forms collect
The contact form collects a name, an email address, a topic and a message. The alumni form collects a name, an email address, a Johns Hopkins school and class year, optionally an organisation, role, city or region and a professional profile address, the ways of being involved that were ticked, and consent to be contacted about the Club.
What happens to it
A form submission is delivered privately by email to the Club’s organiser and is used only to answer the message or to contact the person about the Club. The site itself stores nothing from the forms, publishes nothing, keeps no public directory, and shares nothing outside the Club. There are no member accounts or logins.
How long it is kept
Messages and registrations are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, unless the person renews. They are removed sooner on request.
Removal and corrections
Anyone can ask, through the contact form, for their registration or message to be deleted, for personal details in the archive to be corrected, or for archived material about them to be reviewed. Requests are answered by the organiser.
Technical data
The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images. To limit abuse of the forms, the form handler keeps a short-lived, one-way hash of the visitor’s network address for up to one hour; it cannot be turned back into the address. The web host may keep standard server logs, such as network address, time and page requested, for security and operation.
Links to other sites
Some archived pages link to other organisations’ sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices.
